This guide explains how to review and verify logbook entries after Aircraft MX has processed them using AI transcription and detection.
Overview
After you upload logbook entries, Aircraft MX uses AI to transcribe the content and detect maintenance items. Entries marked as Ready for Review need your verification to confirm the AI's findings are accurate.
Step 1: Open a Logbook Entry
From your aircraft dashboard, navigate to the Logbooks section. Entries that need review will display a Ready for Review status along with the detected date and flight times. Click on an entry to open the edit view.
Step 2: Verify Basic Information
The edit view displays the logbook entry image alongside the information detected by the AI:
- Date
- Times (Hobbs, Flight, Tach, etc)
Quickly scan these fields against the original image to confirm they were captured correctly.
Step 3: Review the Transcription
Scroll down to the Description of Work field, which contains the full transcribed text of the logbook entry. If you notice significant transcription errors, tap the feedback link to report the issue to the Aircraft MX team for investigation.
Step 4: Confirm Timed Items
Under Attached Items, you'll see the timed maintenance items the AI detected as completed in this entry (such as annual inspections, ELT tests, or battery replacements).
For each correctly detected item, tap Attach and Mark Completed. This links the item to the logbook entry and updates your countdown timers with the new completion date.
If additional timed items were addressed but not detected, tap Show Additional Items to view your full list of tracked items and manually mark them as completed.
Step 5: Resolve Squawks (If Applicable)
If you have open squawks that were resolved in this entry, select them from the available list to mark them as completed.
Step 6: Confirm Equipment
Review the detected equipment items. For items you want to track (such as batteries or avionics), mark them as related to this entry. You can skip parts that don't need ongoing tracking.
Step 7: Add Service Bulletins
The AI attempts to detect service bulletins referenced in the entry. To confirm compliance:
- Use the search field to find the specific service bulletin (for example, SB 9201)
- Check the box to select it
- Confirm the compliance status
- Add any notes if needed
- Tap Add to Entry
This links the service bulletin to the logbook entry and updates its status in the Service Bulletins section.
Step 8: Add Airworthiness Directives
Follow the same process for airworthiness directives:
- Search for the AD number (for example, 93-05-06)
- Check the box to select it
- Confirm the compliance status
- Add any notes if needed
- Tap Add to Entry
You can click on any linked AD to view its compliance status or navigate to your full AD list to see all tracked directives.
Step 9: Save and Mark as Verified
Once you've confirmed all detected items, tap Save and Mark as Verified. This indicates that you've reviewed and approved the AI's transcription and detection for this entry. The entry will no longer appear in the Ready for Review list.
Tips for Efficient Review
- Filter by status – Use the Ready for Review filter to see only entries that still need verification.
- Historical uploads take longest – The initial upload of historical logbooks requires the most review time. Once complete, ongoing entries are quick to process.
- Keep items updated – As you link logbook entries to timed items, your due dates and tracking information will automatically stay current.
