This guide explains how to upload PDF logbook files to Aircraft MX and how the system processes them using AI transcription.
Before You Begin
- Login to your aircraft dashboard in AircraftMX
- Have a PDF file of your logbook entries ready to upload (for information on how to upload individual images from your phone or computer, click here).
Step 1: Navigate to Logbooks
From your aircraft dashboard, click Logbooks in the navigation menu. If no logbooks have been uploaded yet, the screen will show an empty logbook list.
Step 2: Start the Upload
Click the PDF button to begin uploading a logbook file.
Step 3: Select the Logbook Type
Choose which logbook the file represents from the available options (for example, Airframe, Engine, or Propeller).
Step 4: Upload Your File
Drag and drop your PDF file onto the upload area, or click the upload icon to open your file browser. Select the logbook file and click Open, then confirm by clicking Upload PDF.
Step 5: Wait for Processing
After the file uploads, you'll see a green alert indicating the upload is in progress. During this time, the application is:
- Uploading your file
- Detecting individual logbook entries
- Splitting the PDF into separate entry pages
This process may take several minutes depending on file size. The page will automatically refresh when processing is complete.
Step 6: AI Transcription
Once the file finishes uploading, the system begins AI-powered transcription. During this phase, Aircraft MX analyzes each logbook entry to detect:
- Timed items that have been complied with
- Service bulletins that were addressed
- Airworthiness directives that were completed
- Equipment that was referenced, installed, or removed
As each entry is processed, its status will change to Ready for Review. This can take several minutes depending on the number of entries.
Next Steps
Once entries show as Ready for Review, you can review what the AI has detected and confirm the maintenance history for your aircraft.
